Bojan is a DIY inkjet printer that users can assemble, repair, and customize themselves, unlike closed commercial printers that create financial burdens and often end up as disposable waste. Instead of a classic "black box" thrown away after breaking, Bojan is an open mechanical and electronic system: users see how the printhead with cartridge moves along the axis, how the motor feeds paper, and how electronics control printing, understanding and modifying all these parts. The construction relies on standard motors, readily available electronic components, and 3D-printable holders, with print format width and length simply determined by the rod and guide length the user chooses. Thus, Bojan becomes a platform—a starting point for experimenting with different inks, formats, speeds, and printing methods—designed to be as cheap as possible to maintain and maximally open for user modification and personalization.
